For some reason I was always really into learning German – my Dad originally said take the language that no one else was taking. I only spoke German while there – even with Americans, even in the beginning when I really couldn’t speak it that well. 

I couldn’t fall asleep at night at first because I was forcing myself to think in German which was hard to do. I did eventually learn it though.
